Civil Works:These consist of two cut and cover and
bored tunnels; technical galleries; two ventilation towers and two
smoke extractor stations; hard and soft landscaping works around the
entrances to and exits from the tunnels and the necessery road
diversion works.

Electromechanical Works:These includind the
installation of sensor control units; electrical equipment ;
ventilation and smoke extraction, equipment and installation;
elevators in the ventilation towers; dewatering pumps and drainage ,
fire mains and pumps; zoned lighting; traffic lane barriers and the
diversions of existing systems .

Power Supply, provided from four independent
sources; stand-by generators; emergency lighting
back-up. |

Traffic signs and signals, including illuminated signs in the tunnels and at entrances and exits; warning lights; traffic lights. |

Central Control Room, located in the
tunnels at the base of one of the ventilation towers and is manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week. |

Communication systems operated from the control room, including closed circuit television equipment with
colour cameras located strategically throughout the tunnels ; radio equipment with radiating cables in the tunnels and antennae at the entrances; service telephone equipment with handsets located at
intervals in the tunnels and ventilation stations; public address system. |

Safety Systems, including sprayed fire lining to the tunnel segments; heat and smoke detectors in the tunnels and
ventilation stations; emergency telephones ; emergency evacuation cabinets at 100 metre intervals in both tunnels, equipped with escape chutes; escape passageway under the roadway leading to the ventilation tower elevators and escape stairs; fire cabinets with hose reels and portable fire extinguishers; |
