Port Said Street station and Attaba have a tunnel de-watering system with 6 pumps.
Smoke exhaust stations are located at Attaba and Salah Salem
Stations. Each has the following equipment installed, for
emergencies:
a) 2 Exhaust fans, 400 volt 3 phase, capable of cleaning 75 cubic meters of air.
b) Air conditioning system.
c) 1 low voltage distribution cabinet supplying lighting and station power.
d) 2 sewage pumps, of 16 cubic meters per hour capacity.
Salah Salem station also has an elevator of 2 tons capacity.
Jet fans are installed in the tunnels vaults, six are located
at each of the tunnels entrances and exits.
The Auxiliary Ventilation is installed to ventilate the
Technical Gallery, Cross Passages between the two tunnels, the
Emergency Staircases and the Emergency Stations. The Auxiliary
Ventilation serves the following purposes:-
a) Removal of heat dissipated from the cables and all other equipment located in the technical galleries, during normal operation.
b) Fresh air delivery to the Cross Passages, Staircases and Emergency Stations, during normal operations.
c) Pressurisation of
the Cross Passages, Staircases and Emergency Stations, in situations
of emergency in order to prevent smoke from fire, from entering
them.
Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC).
The aim of the HVAC system is to:-
a) ensure that the temperature of each technical room, in the four ventilation plants, will not exceed the specified temperature which the installed equipment can bear.
b) Ensure comfortable climatic conditions in the control room, computer room and the offices in Salah Salem Station.
The system is composed of 2 chillers, in each ventilation
plant, to produce chilled water at 6°C. This water is distributed by
a pipe network to the fan coil units, located in the various
rooms.
Power Supply
